OSX, the shipbuilding company of Eike Batista, filed a request for judicial recovery last Monday the 30th. The request came after the organization received a fee worth R$400 million from Prumo, Porto’s controller in Açu, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Information from the newspaper the world.
If the court accepts it, this will be the company’s second judicial recovery. The first lawsuit was filed in 2013, over a debt of R$5.3 billion. After starting the repayment schedule, the missing fees were suspended in 2018 under an agreement with creditors.
In this deal, among the issues agreed upon with the organizations, Promo stopped requesting payment of financial obligations such as the rent of the areas occupied by the former billionaire’s company in the port of Aso. But the contract expired on the nineteenth and was not renewed.
With the Bromo decision, there may be a “domino effect” with other creditors of the judicial recovery – Caixa Econômica Federal, Santander, Banco Votorantim and Porto de Açu Operações SA – who may take the same position.
OSX is the only company in Group X, with projects from different sectors, that remains under Eike’s control. In the first quarter of this year, its annual revenues reached R$40 million, and expenses reached R$52 million.
