A 13-year-old boy raises his arms before an American policeman kills him; Video

Video of the moment when a policeman is shot and killed 13-year-old teenager in the United States, Released on Thursday the 15th, and the images captured from the camera attached to the officer’s uniform show that the victim Adam Toledo raises his arms when he sees the police approaching. Once Adam passed away, the Chicago Police Department said he had a pistol in his hand. This, however, was not realized in the video that was released, for a period of nine minutes.

The department said police officers were chasing Adam and a man when they received notice of gunfire in the area.

“There was a series of forces that got together at 2:30 a.m. on March 29th in an alleyway and Adam simply let us down,” Chicago Mayor Laurie Lightfoot told a news conference before the video was released.

Tensions rose in Chicago, with the Adam case, the police shooting of Don Wright on Sunday in a Minneapolis suburb, and the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin over the death of George Floyd in May 2020.

“Chicago, like many parts of our country, has a long legacy of police violence and police misconduct that has left many residents, especially those black and brown, in a constant state of fear and pain,” Lightfoot said.

City officials asked people to remain calm while preparing for the demonstration after the video was posted and said that more police and equipment in the city will be available to protect companies during any unrest. Like some other American cities, Chicago was hit by riots and looting after Floyd’s death, which is also filmed.

The Toledo family said in a statement released to local media that they appreciate the support they have received from the community and are grateful that the protests in Chicago in the past few days have remained peaceful.

“We pray for our city that people remain in peace to honor Adam’s memory and work constructively to promote reform,” the family said.
