Expert Leyla Konya’s comments on FGTS, take a look.

Is the Christmas draw and salary bonus over?

  • So far no!

  • Workers will continue to receive PIS/PASEP according to their month of birth;

  • This action remains a federal government project.

  • For the Ministry of Planning, the change can be made because workers with formal contracts already enjoy some sort of “privilege” compared to those working in the informal sector;

  • Reviewing these policies will be a priority for next year;

  • This is because unemployment has reached increasingly low levels in the country, while an increase in the wage bill has been set;

  • In FGTS, the elimination of cross-payments is a potential change;

  • The goal is to ensure that every worker receives his benefits without duplication;

  • With invoice, A new withdrawal format is expected to be introduced. So that private sector workers can obtain salary loans;

  • According to the federal government, the intent is not to remove the rights of CLT workers, but to make these programs more efficient and less subject to legal accountability.

Who can get PIS/PASEP?

The salary bonus is paid to workers who meet the following requirements:

  • They worked for at least 30 days during the base year;

  • To have been registered for at least 5 years with the PIS-Pasep participation fund or with the National Social Information Register (CNIS);

  • They received up to two minimum wages in the base year, from employers who contributed to PIS or PASEP.
