Openings celebrate the group’s 60th anniversary, which began in Santa Catarina and will see the opening of 23 stores in MS
An investment of R$150 million will secure two new Grupo Pereira stores in Campo Grande. Fort Atacadista and Comper will open tomorrow at 8 am. The first is in Jardim Montevideo, on the way to Cuiabá, and the other is in Bairro Itanhangá. The company is betting on the consumer profile of the city, which according to IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) has an average income of R$7.4 thousand.
The opening celebrates the 60th anniversary of the group, which started in Santa Catarina, and will mark the opening of 23 stores in the state, just one outside of Campo Grande. At MS alone, it’s been in business for 38 years, since the first store opened in 1984.
Together, the two stores will create about 600 direct and indirect jobs. In Fort, the investment was R$40 million in a sales area of 4,500 square meters and in Comper, R$110 million, in a shop with 29,000 square meters of built-up area and 3,700 square meters of sales space.
The unit has a trade show of about 15 establishments, many amenities, a climate controlled wine cellar, and outdoor space selling plants.
The Pereira Group also maintains businesses in the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Santa Catarina and São Paulo and in the Federal District.
