The executives performed a band at Rock in Rio. The Cliff Band, made up of executives from major labels sponsoring the festival, made their debut two days before the event’s official opening. The group took to the Sunset Stage, opening for Barão Vermelho.
The band was formed specifically for this event. The Cliff band brings together top executives, such as Alberto Griscelli, CEO of TIM, Ciro Bossopom, CEO of Volkswagen Brazil, and João Johanpeter, from Gerdão. The band’s name is a reference to the term “C-level,” which refers to management positions in companies.
The repertoire included rock classics. Among the songs performed by the band, great rock songs stood out, such as “Another Brick in the Wall” (Pink Floyd), “Highway to Hell” (AC/DC) and “Pro Dia Nascer Feliz” (Barão Vermelho). “Music and piano are two passions that go back to my childhood, when I studied with my grandmother. Being at Rock in Rio for the second time with TIM is a privilege, and now even more so, with the opportunity to have fun on stage,” declared Alberto Griscelli, who also said that playing at Rock in Rio was more than just a promotional act.
Participation has personal value for executives. Volkswagen Brazil CEO Ciro Bossopom also expressed his excitement at playing guitar at the event: “Playing rock in Rio with Cliff was an unforgettable experience. I became a guitarist because of the impact of Queen’s historic performance at the festival in 1985, and at that time, I never imagined that I would one day be on one of the stages at this event.”
