What is the new artificial intelligence and how does it work?

The Meta AI assistant begins availability in Brazil this month. According to the technology company, the feature can be used for searches and conversations, and will be integrated into Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp applications. Therefore, it will be possible, for example, to ask questions to the chat program directly through the applications’ search bar, without having to close it.

The chatbot also has an image creation feature. By using the word “Imagine” when interacting with Meta AI or in a group chat, the user will be able to create and share images. The assistant will also be able to answer questions about the images, meaning that if you send a record of a flower and ask Meta AI what type it is, it will respond.

“People can send a photo in a chat with Meta AI and tell the assistant what they want to add, remove or change in the photo — from changing an outfit to replacing the background with a rainbow,” Meta adds.

Additionally, the company is testing a voice translation tool that can automatically translate audio from Reels so more people can enjoy the content, even if they speak different languages. “Through automatic dubbing and lip-sync, Meta AI will mimic the voice of a speaker in another language and lip-sync to match.” quotes.

The launch of Meta AI in Brazil was postponed because the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) realized that changes to Meta’s privacy policy could cause “serious, irreparable or difficult to repair damage to the fundamental rights” of Brazilians.
