The city’s newest health center will be opened by the Serra City Council on Tuesday (12). Located in Valparaiso, the new regional health unit promises to improve care and offer new services – such as specialties and X-ray examinations – to residents of the Parque Residencial Laranjeiras area.

The Sierra Health Department reported that the work has been completed and the inauguration is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

He also informed that the selected site underwent renovation and adaptation works this year. Regular care services are planned for on-site units, such as medical or nursing care, minor surgeries, dressings, procedures, and vaccinations, as well as leprosy, tuberculosis, and smoking programs.

Where will the new health unit in Serra be located?

The new regional office will operate on Avenida Guarapari, in Valparaiso, on the site where the Valparaíso Educational Center, which was deactivated about 20 years ago, used to operate. The building also served as the Darwin branch for a few years.

The space is leased by Serra City Hall. The municipality has not yet set a specific date for the opening of the unit.

Laranjeiras Health Center

Even with the opening of the new regional health area, the basic health unit of Parque Residencial Laranjeiras will continue to operate.

Mayor Sergio Vidigal’s administration was considering moving the base unit in Laranjeiras to the new one in Valparaiso, which would mean that the service would be completed in the current building.
