An important milestone in the health sector in Vilhena is being achieved at the Regional Hospital with the performance of 67 elective knee surgeries.
These measures aim to reduce the pent-up demand that has accumulated in recent years in the city, providing relief to patients who have been waiting for orthopedic surgical interventions for a long time.
Cruciate ligament and meniscus operations are performed by a team of three highly qualified surgeons. Each day, they rotate in the operating room, where they perform an average of five surgeries per day. The complexity of the procedures requires a team of qualified assistants who ensure support during all stages of operations.
The possibility of performing these surgeries was made possible thanks to a parliamentary amendment made by Federal Representative Coronel Crisostomo. The initiative came in response to demands made by Santa Casa and the Municipal Health Department (CMOS), which has worked to address the shortage of surgeries in Vilhena in recent years.
Surgical operations began at the beginning of this month of February, and it is expected that all 67 operations will be completed by the end of this month. This achievement not only fulfills pent-up demand, but also highlights the importance of joint work between Santa Casa, Simos and parliamentary initiatives in the search for effective health solutions.
It is expected that this initiative will serve as a catalyst for further investments in the field of orthopedic surgery. Santa Casa and Seamos are working tirelessly to provide additional resources, seeking to ensure the continuity and expansion of surgical operations at Vilhena Regional Hospital. The commitment of these entities reflects the importance of providing effective access to highly specialized and complex medical services, and enhancing the well-being and quality of life of the residents of Vilhena and the southern cone of the state.
