Judge Mary Kay Holthus, from Las Vegas, was attacked when she sentenced a man on Wednesday (3) for assault in the state of Nevada in the United States.
A video circulated on social media showing the moment the judge was assaulted. As she was reading the sentence, the man broke free and jumped on top of the woman, who ended up falling. She tried to avoid the criminal, but she couldn't.
The case took place in the District Court of Clark County, one of 16 counties in the state of Nevada. The author is Dillon Redden. He was found guilty of aggravated assault occasioning great bodily harm and pleaded guilty. Information taken from Channel 13, ABC affiliate KTNV-TV.
At the time of the assault, the judge denied the author's request for parole due to his criminal history. Reddin punched the judge several times while shouting profanities. It took several agents to contain it.
The Las Vegas District Court stated that the judge suffered some injuries and is under observation.
