A transgender student assaulted two classmates in a women’s bathroom at an Oklahoma high school.
The case happened at Edmond Memorial High School and was confirmed by Superintendent Angela Grunewald. The school does not know the biological gender of a student who is already enrolled as a girl.
According to The Christian Post, the attack on the girls happened on October 26 and the school board is already investigating the case.
State law and District Policy #5540 prohibit transgender women from using the women’s restroom. The rule for using a shared bathroom is according to the gender on your birth certificate.
The sexual identity of the student was discovered only during the investigation. The student who hit her classmates was in the second day of class.
One of the assaulted girls had marks on her face from being punched, knocked to the ground and kicked. Due to her physical differences, she was unable to fight off the attack.
The reasons for the fight are unclear. Testimony included clothing stolen from the assaulted girl by a transgender woman and reports of bullying through social media. Due to this, the transgender was dismissed from the school.
