Hours before Iran’s missile attack on Israel this Tuesday (01/10), US President Joe Biden called a meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris and her national security advisers, the White House said, over Iran’s attack on Israel.
Washington’s statement was released this afternoon, after the attack on Israeli territory began, according to Folha de São Paulo.
“They reviewed the status of U.S. products that would help Israel defend itself against these attacks and protect U.S. personnel in the region,” the White House said in a statement.
Biden ordered his military to “help Israel defend itself” against an attack by Iran and to “shoot down missiles” fired at the ally, according to the White House.
The president and vice president are monitoring the situation in the White House crisis room.
Keir Starmer expresses ‘commitment’ to Israel’s defense while calling Netanyahu
In a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his British counterpart, Keir Starmer, condemned Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel in the “strongest terms” this Tuesday.
