The Executive Board, collaborating doctors and employees held a symbolic moment to celebrate the new phase of the health operator in Rio Branco. Starting October 24, Unimed clients (domestic and mutual) will have a 24-hour emergency room as a reference unit for urgent emergency care and pediatric care.
Following Urgil’s request to terminate the contract, the management of Unimed Rio Branco reorganized the 24-hour emergency care unit, which was a reference during the most critical moments of the pandemic. A children’s ward has been created and will provide all necessary services.
In addition to the support of Unimed’s ambulance fleet, patients will have practical access to laboratory services (UniLab), imaging examinations (CT, X-ray and ultrasound), minor surgical operating theatres, a nebulization room, physiotherapy facilities for assessment and observation beds. In addition to a qualified pediatric medical team as well as nursing staff.
According to Unimed Supervisor Rio Branco, patients who need hospitalization will be transferred to approved hospitals, according to medical evaluation. “We are proud to offer our customers another service that reflects our goal: quality. Thanks to the dedication of all involved, today’s beneficiaries will have a welcoming and organized place for emergency situations. Hospitalizations will be transferred to accredited hospitals with the support of our ambulance fleet,” comments Dr. Renato Correa.
Unimed Rio Branco’s 24-hour emergency service is located on Avenida Antônio da Rocha Viana, near the Mercale supermarket, in the Village Maciel neighborhood.
