Flamengo aims to sign Scarpa as De La Cruz’s replacement
Gustavo Scarpa has returned to Flamengo’s radar this late in the year. This is because Rubro-Negro is close to signing De La Cruz and details are still out to confirm the Uruguayan reinforcement. However, the River Plate midfielder (ARG) is constantly called up by the Uruguay national team, so Scarpa’s arrival is necessary so that Mes Querido does not suffer from the absences in FIFA history.
According to journalist Mauro Cesar Pereira, Flamengo investigated the contract with Gustavo Scarpa so that he would not suffer from significant embezzlement during FIFA statements. Arascaeta and de la Cruz are big names in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, so Rubro Negro does not want to face any problems during the season during the team’s matches.
Team Brazil will not be paralyzed with the America’s Cup
It should be noted that the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has determined that the Brazilian League will not stop during the 2024 Copa America. Therefore, Brazilian clubs can remain up to ten rounds of the national competition with absences linked to the CONMEBOL Championship. Therefore, Flamengo planned Scarpa’s recruitment with this hurdle in mind.
International also wants Gustavo Scarpa
In addition to Flamengo, Internacional have also put Gustavo Scarpa on their radar. On the other hand, Atletico MG abandoned the signing of the midfielder after Robro Negro entered the match. Therefore, Mes Querido faces competition from Rio Grande do Sul to sign the Brazilian midfielder. Currently, the player is on loan to Olympiacos (GRE), but has a contract with Nottingham Forest (ING).
