The Cometa Nordestino Extension Project, associated with the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), promotes on Mondays and Tuesdays a mobile planetarium exhibition, with the aim of bringing knowledge about the universe and astronomy to students and society in general.
The mobile planetarium is a space equipped with high-quality projection technology, which simulates the starry sky and allows visitors to explore the wonders of the universe in an immersive and educational way. The exhibition will include educational video sessions about planets, stars, galaxies and other astronomical phenomena.
The initiative aims to stimulate interest in science and astronomy, and stimulate participants’ curiosity and learning. As classes return, the project will hold sessions on February 26 and 27 in the morning (10am-12pm) and in the afternoon (2pm-4pm). Throughout 2024, the goal is to expand activities and strengthen classrooms in public schools. Schools in Northeast: The mobile planetarium, a new equipment for teaching astronomy, will be available for visiting schools, institutions and interested groups free of charge.
The mobile planetarium exhibition is part of the scientific dissemination and extension activities carried out by UFRN, which contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and the training of future scientists and researchers.
