“The State Department has ordered the evacuation of employees and their families due to the impact of the current Govt-19 eruption and restrictions on the response of the People’s Republic of China,” the spokesman said in a statement.

The Asian legend still uses the “Zero Covit” policy, which seeks to eradicate infections through rigorous imprisonment, lenient testing and travel restrictions.
Shanghai, the country’s economic capital, has used the country’s toughest restrictions since the virus appeared in Wuhan in 2019, complicating food purchases with severe imprisonment and sending thousands to isolated centers.
The megacity on Tuesday registered more than 23,000 new infections and most of its 25 million residents are locked up.
The U.S. embassy said last week that it would allow its non-essential staff to leave the city because of the blast and warned its citizens in China about the “arbitrary” anti-Govt measures being taken in the country.
The State Department now promises that it is “the best thing” for employees and their families to “reduce the number and re-measure operations when we are dealing with changing circumstances,” the spokesman said.
