This is why the Queen met Meghan and Harry for a while

During the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, which marked the 70th anniversary of the reign of the UK king with a four-day schedule of celebrations in the country, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry flew in to take part in events related to the celebration.

The two traveled from the United States, where they have resided since leaving the crown, in early 2020, with their two children: Archie and Lilipet. The British press reported that the Sussex family met briefly with the Queen amid the monarch’s intense schedule and that the meeting was primarily aimed at meeting Lillibit, the couple’s youngest daughter whom the great-grandmother has yet to meet.

Much has been said about this short meeting and there are rumors that the 15-minute conversation with the Queen was arranged as a result of family feuds between the Sussex family and the monarchs.

But, according to Us Weekly, the brief visit to Windsor Castle has nothing to do with family stress but more to do with the Queen’s ability to save amid health issues, specifically the Queen’s physical mobility issues. We put aside many jubilee celebrations, and other royal engagements like Royal Ascot.

“She’s been working hard to maintain her strength,” said royal expert Jonathan Sacredotti. “I think it was quite understandable that she was saving her energy as much as she could for all the events she wanted to be in if she could.”

After the Trooping the Color parade on 2 June and the plane, in which the Queen appeared twice on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, the Sussex family is reported to have moved their daughter, Lillibit Diana, whose name pays homage to the Queen’s family, to Windsor Castle which night.

“Harry and Meghan visited the Queen at Windsor Castle with Lillibit and Archie,” the expert told Marie Claire. “We’re talking about someone in their ’90s and a baby. We’ve seen that she manages to show up a few times in public, and that’s cool.”

Feeling uncomfortable at Trooping the Color on Thursday, the Queen had to miss several events on Friday and Saturday before her surprise third appearance on the balcony on Sunday at the finale of the platinum jubilee.
