According to Luminate (via advertisement boardThe week ending Dec. 22 marked the biggest weekly sales of vinyl records in the “modern era,” the last 31 years, when music sales have been tracked since 1991.
Over 2 million and 200 thousand copies were sold in seven days, accounting for 57% of total album sales in the country during that period.
Best selling album of the week midnightsIn Taylor Swift, with 68 thousand copies. It is noteworthy that this work was published in five types, all in color.
The previous vinyl sales record was 2021
It was only the second time in the modern era that more than 2 million albums were sold in a single week. The first took place the week before Christmas 2021.
