The PF impeached Bolsonaro in March. Investigators found evidence that the former president committed crimes involving a criminal organization and the introduction of false data into a public system. However, after submitting the report, the Attorney General’s Office requested fresh investigative proceedings.
No response from North American officials. The PF investigated the episode in international cooperation with US authorities, but ended the investigation before receiving a definitive answer on whether Bolsonaro entered the country with a vaccination card. Now, the PF has provided Moraes with the entry and exit records of Bolsonaro and others investigated between January 2021 and March 2023.
It is noteworthy that the US Department of Justice (DOJ) said that the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) does not have records of whether those questioned above submitted proof of vaccination against Covid-19. Likewise, entry and exit control records from US territory do not provide information on whether those investigated were vaccinated or exempted from meeting vaccination requirements.

It is up to the PGR to investigate and decide whether to censure the former president or not. The previous impeachment of Bolsonaro and others under investigation is maintained.

Bolsonaro’s vaccine data case includes five defendants. They are: former president, former advisers Max Guilherme Machado and Sérgio Rocha Cordeiro, former government secretary of Duque de Caxias (RJ) João Carlos de Souza Brecha, and former army major Ailton Barros.
