Today, the disciplinary committee of the federation in charge of the championship summoned the representatives of the two teams to an emergency meeting after what it described as a “serious incident.”

“Following the dangerous events of the Nice-Olympic-Marseille OGC match, the LFP Disciplinary Committee summoned both clubs to the tournament on Wednesday, August 25, 2021,” summed up the league.

At the meeting, the LFP must decide whether the match will end even before the end (the duel was 1-0 to Nice) and the penalties imposed on the participants.

It all started in 30 minutes from the second time. Some Nice fans – who played at home – threw a bottle at Payet, who took a corner kick. The Marseille midfielder threw the thing back and started a riot – due to the invasion of the stadium and clashes between athletes and spectators.
