Controversial goal New Iguaçu It continues to resonate on social media and at roundtables. The goal began with Xandinho marking after Carlinhos exchanged the ball with Joao Victor, the team's defender Vasco. The problem here is that in the VAR picture, the lines appear to have been drawn the wrong way, something which was immediately denied by the Verge's refereeing department.

The refereeing department stated, in a note sent to “G”, that the line was drawn at the heels of the Vasco da Gama defender.
– The line is drawn according to the rule on the heel of the Vasco player. When the lines overlap, they turn blue in favor of the attack.
Another complaint from Vasco players was that assistant Gustavo Motta Correa flagged offside before play had finished. However, since the referee did not send the signal, VAR acted correctly.
Vasco will only return to action to face Nova Iguaçu on Sunday (17), at 4pm, at a venue to be determined later. Laranja da Baixada will face Internacional on Wednesday (13), at 8pm, at the Mane Garrincha Stadium, in a match valid for the second stage of the Brazilian Cup.
