The proportion of health professionals who have contracted the novel coronavirus has gradually decreased in Alagoas since vaccination began on January 19. At the time, the percentage of district workers with a positive diagnosis was 5.9%, according to data from the state Department of Health (SISAU). This Thursday (3), this percentage reached 3.8%, according to the epidemiological bulletin.
Health professionals were the first to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in Alagoas, and according to infection experts, this decrease in the proportion of infected people is directly related to vaccination, considering that cases in general do not stop increasing in the state
Currently, 194,926 people have been diagnosed positive for the disease in Alagoas. Of this total, 7,502 were health professionals, corresponding to 3.8%. As of January 19, when vaccination began, 6,565 (5.9%) healthcare workers have been infected out of a total of 111,097 confirmed cases to date.
In all, in Alagoas, there are more than a million vaccines against Covid-19. As of Thursday, the state already had 723,602 people immunized with the first dose of one of the three vaccines available in the SUS and 283,987 citizens who had completed the vaccination schedule.
