Section 2 of the Official Gazette (DOU) on the first day of 2023 was full of acquittals. Signed by the acting president, Hamilton Mourao, there are a total of 20 farewell pages to the Bolsonaro government. The list includes high-profile names, such as former Minister of Economy Paulo Guedes and former Minister Augusto Helino, from the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
Other names of acquitted ministers are:
Luiz Eduardo Ramos Baptista Pereira as Secretary of State and Head of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic;
Bruno Bianco Leal as Federation Prosecutor;
Marcos Montes Cordero, Secretary of State for Agriculture, Livestock and Supply;
Ronaldo Vieira Pinto, Minister of State for Citizenship;
Paolo César Rezende de Carvalho Alvim as Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation;
Paulo Sérgio Nogueira de Oliveira, Minister of Defence;
Rogerio Boeri Miranda as Head of the Special Advisory Office for Economic Studies at the Ministry of Economy;
Victor Godoy Vega as Secretary of State for Education;
Marcelo Sampaio Cunha Filho as Secretary of State for Infrastructure;
Anderson Gustavo Torres as Secretary of State for Justice and Public Security;
Carlos Alberto Franco Frana, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs;
Marcelo Antonio Cartaxo Quiroga Lopes as Minister of State for Health;
José Carlos Oliveira, Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security;
Carlos Alberto Gomez de Brito as Secretary of State for Tourism; And the
WAGNER DE CAMPOS ROSÁRIO from the post of Secretary of State to Comptroller General of the Federation.

New ministers
President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva closed the formation of the Esplanada with a record number of women at the senior level. There will be 11 ministers in a total of 37 files. Increased participation of women in government was one of Labor’s campaign promises, although it avoided committing itself to full equality in office.
Among the ministers, the first six have been announced over the past two weeks. Luciana Santos will lead the Science and Technology portfolio. Nísia Trindade will lead Health. For culture, singer Margaret Menezes was announced. Seda Gonsalves will head the Ministry of Women’s Affairs. Racial equality will be in charge of Anil Franco, the sister of the murdered councilwoman Marielle Franco. Finally, Esther Duque will head the Department of Management.
Simone Tippett will head planning, while Marina Silva will once again head environment. Sonia Guajajara will lead the unprecedented Ministry of Indigenous Peoples. Former volleyball player Anna Moser has been chosen to head the Sports Ministry and Daniela de Waguinho, the Tourism Ministry.
