It wasn’t long before we were introduced to the new Peugeot 2008. After appearing in a teaser advertisement issued by Peugeot itself, the new 2008 car appeared again in tests, this time without camouflage, on the streets of the city of Belo Horizonte (MG). The photos were taken by Jean-Pierre and posted on the Stellantis Clube (@stellantis_clube) Instagram profile. The second generation of the SUV has been completely revamped and is scheduled to be launched in Brazil between July and August.

The new Peugeot 2008 will be the first Peugeot car sold in Brazil to carry the brand’s new logo. It has already been produced in El Palomar (Argentina), in the same factory that already makes the Aperture 208, since the end of April. It will also arrive in the country with the redesigned look that debuted on the European model in 2023, something that has already been confirmed by old photos and Peugeot’s official teaser.

The Argentine SUV will have new LED headlights, a 3D grille and triple daytime running lights, as well as a new Peugeot logo. At the rear, the headlights have new internal elements. Inside, it will have new covers on the seats and steering wheel, but should lose the rubberized finish on top.

The second generation 2008 was launched in Europe in 2019, arriving in Brazil in 2022 only in the e-2008 GT electric version, which will continue to be imported from Europe, but with an updated look. It uses the CMP modular platform, the same platform as the Peugeot 208 and various other cars from the Stellantis range.

Under the hood, all combustion versions must be equipped with a 1.0 Turbo Flex engine with 130 hp and 200 Nm, always linked to a CVT automatic transmission with 7-speed simulation. The new Peugeot 2008 is scheduled to be sold in Active, Allure and GT versions, with prices starting from 130,000 Brazilian riyals.
