
The Science, Technology and Innovation Sector of the Brazilian Navy participated, in the week of April 10-14, in the 13th edition of LAAD Defense and Security. The sector provided event participants with the ability to develop defense systems and equipment and master local technologies.
On this occasion, the Technological Center of the Navy of Rio de Janeiro (CTMRJ) and shipbuilding company DGS Industrial Ltda. signed a partnership agreement for Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I), which aims to enhance studies and analyzes of technical and operational concepts related to autonomous and remotely controlled ships, and to add knowledge to the Unmanned Surface Vehicles (VSNT) project, which operates at the Naval Systems Analysis Center (CASNAV).
The Director General of Nuclear and Technological Development of the Navy, Admiral Petronio Augusto Sequellar de Aguiar, received in Itaguí, on the 10th and 13th respectively, a delegation of French parliamentarians and an Argentine delegation led by the Minister of Defense of that country. .
On this occasion, visitors had the opportunity to see the complete structure and industrial capacity located in the Naval Complex of Itaguaí (CNI), where the first Brazilian conventionally armed nuclear propelled submarine (SCPN) will be built.
On the 12th, other delegations of representatives from the US, Indian, Indonesian and Pakistani navies were able to visit the shipyard and steel structure fabrication unit located at CNI.
