On Monday (20), the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) launched a public call to raise R$50 million for the development of Innovation Centers (ICT) in the country.
Innovation centers are physical spaces that bring together professionals who conduct research in science and technology to develop innovative solutions to society’s needs.
“In a survey conducted in Brazil, we have that for every 1 R$ that is put into ICT, we have R$ 20 at the end. ICT bridges the gap between academia and business and the intersection of creativity and innovation; Roberto Sobol said in a statement issued by MCTI, President of the El Dorado Research Institute, Campinas (SP), says it ends up being an opportunity for companies of all sizes to take advantage of their products.

“Science, technology and innovation is fundamental – if we have a country in which this sector is doing well, we are helping health, infrastructure, defense, regional development and agriculture, and everything will work on the basis of science and technology,” said the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. Science and Technology Marcos Pontes, during the ceremony held at the Institute, in Campinas.
The resources are from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT) and will be transferred to the centers through the Study and Project Financing Agency (Finep).
