A direct debate between the two candidates to succeed British Prime Minister Boris Johnson largely ended on Tuesday after the presenter collapsed in the studio.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, a bookmaker favored to win the Conservative Party leadership election, and former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak were discussing their plans when there was a sensation on the broadcast.
The debate, which was promoted by Talk TV and The Sun and broadcast live, was cut short, with an image of a visibly worried Gears emerging.
“Oh my God,” said the secretary.
Talk TV said presenter Kate McCann fainted.
“While she is fine, the advice of the medical staff is that we should not continue the discussion. We apologize to our viewers and listeners,” TalkTV announced on Twitter.
Broadcasting resumed briefly, with the two candidates appearing to speak to a small studio audience, although there was no sound.
Before the early end of the discussion, Truss and Snack again discussed their financial and investment plans, and talked about what they would do to solve the country’s current cost of living crisis.
