Starting Thursday, March 7, in the capital, São Paulo State Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation (CECTI-SP), a preparatory event in the state of São Paulo for the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation (CNCTI), which will be held from June 4 to 6 in Brasilia.
The conference, organized by the São Paulo Science, Technology and Innovation Secretariat in partnership with the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (Fapesp), aims to discuss the main challenges of science, technology and innovation in the state and how to contribute to the national sector agenda in the next decade.
“In accordance with the governor’s directives, it is necessary to continue stimulating science and technology in the soil of São Paulo. In the state of São Paulo, we find world-renowned institutions of higher education and research centers, they are true leaders in generating scientific knowledge, promoting dialogues and debates that advance science through innovation and continuous research.” “This event seeks to discuss how best to leverage this efficiency and seek synergy in actions,” says State Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Vahan Agopyan, former Dean of the University of the South Pacific. “It is a preparatory event for the fifth session of the CNCTI, but the topics that The topics covered, such as funding research and innovation, strengthening regional research support systems, digital transformation and energy, do not necessarily match those of the national event. Over the course of two days, the event program will be divided into four thematic themes:
- Funding and organizational models for research and innovation. The role of the state, research institutions, institutions, non-governmental organizations, social organizations, and the public and private business sectors. Amendments and progress in legislation. institutional challenges;
- Human resources training strategies and developments. Challenges of graduate studies. Incentives for scientific careers: incentives for young scientists, talent attraction, inclusion and diversity;
