Even with a divisive first season that was heavily panned by The Lord of the Rings fans, the Prime Video spin-off series has been renewed for a second season.

Filming for the new episodes began in October last year at Bray Studios in the UK, unlike the first season, which was recorded in New Zealand.

There’s no premiere date yet, but the new season is expected to arrive sometime in 2024.

“The first season is a reintroduction to Middle-earth. Many fans looked forward to visiting places they had never been before, like Númenor. Payne, co-showrunner of the series, said in an interview with People’s Mail.
