The Ceará Faz Ciência competition is open for registration

The selected teams will present their projects at the Knowledge Fair in Fortaleza

Registration is now open for the “Ceará Faz Ciência” competition, a state competition that awakens scientific vocations and reveals young talents in the capital and in the interior regions. Students and teachers from public schools across the state can participate. Interested parties have until October 31 to register, exclusively via the link www.sct.ce.gov.br/cfc.

The Ceará Faz Ciência Competition is an initiative of the Government of Ceará, through the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Higher Education (Secitece), in partnership with CNPq/MCTI. This year, the competition theme will follow the theme of the National Science and Technology Week 2024: “Biomes in Brazil: Diversity, Knowledge and Social Technologies”.

Teams can be formed of up to two students and a teacher advisor from Primary 2 (Years 6 to 9) or Secondary/Technical/Vocational (Years 1 and 2). In addition to filling out the registration form, each team must record a video, up to three minutes long, explaining the experiment/project.

Projects need to propose a solution to a local problem, using techniques from the following areas of knowledge: physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, history, geography, exact sciences and humanities. Works will be selected based on criteria such as innovation, social significance and sustainability.

Twenty projects will be selected, ten from Primary School 2 and ten from Secondary/Technical/Vocational Education. Classified ads are scheduled to be announced on November 8, at the link www.sct.ce.gov.br/cfc.

Knowledge Exhibition

The business exhibition will take place during Knowledge Fair 2024, scheduled to be held on November 21, 22 and 23, at the Ceara Event Center, in Fortaleza, where participants will have the opportunity to present their projects and will be evaluated live by a panel. Created in 2012, the Ceará Faz Ciência Competition is an initiative of the Secitece Science Popularization Programme, which aims to transfer scientific knowledge to the four corners of the state and spread scientific knowledge among the people of Ceará.
