In November, Campina Grande will see a new cultural landmark with the opening of the Campina Grande Museum of Arts and Sciences (MAC). This innovative project, the result of a collaboration between the Pedro Americo Foundation, the State University of Paraíba (UEPB), Unifacisa and the Brazilian Museum Institute (IBRAM), promises to change the artistic and cultural landscape of the region.
MAC is designed as an interactive space where art and science meet, providing unique sensory experiences for visitors. Aiming to become a welcoming meeting point for all ages, the museum seeks to unite culture and technology in an innovative way.
“The MAC is not a traditional museum, but rather a space that combines art, culture and technology, not only from the perspective of revisiting the past, but also from the perspective of building the future. Our mission is to be a catalyst for the creative economy in the region, and to foster an environment in which local culture is preserved.” , but there is room to create new experiences, especially by connecting with academia and the creative sector of society. “We want the museum to be a place where the community can come together, learn, grow, strengthen community ties and celebrate the unique identity of Campina Grande,” explains Carolina Gadelha, architect and director. In celebration of the 160th anniversary of Campina Grande, MAC CG will have the honor of presenting the immersive exhibition “Fios”. The exhibition explores the city’s rich cultural and scientific background, and invites visitors to reflect on local identity and community relations. “Threads” offers a sensory journey that highlights the simplicity and power of thread as a connecting element, allowing visitors to create and reinvent their own stories and narratives.
The exhibition pays homage to the history of Campina Grande, from its traditional songs to the latest technological innovations. By combining art and technology, Fios provides an immersive experience that includes creativity and interaction.
