Together and separately, the Beatles have always had a great talent for the unexpected. Now, 2023 brings one of the most anticipated releases in its long and eventful history.
“Now and Then” is the final Beatles song – written and sung by John Lennon, developed and penned by Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, and now, more than four decades later, Paul and Ringo have finally finished.
“Now and Then” will be released worldwide on Thursday, November 2 by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe. The double single combines the Beatles’ final song with their first: “Love Me Do”, the band’s 1962 No. 1 UK single, and a truly fitting counterpart to “Now and Then”.
Both songs were mixed in stereo and Dolby Atmos, and the release has an original cover by acclaimed artist Ed Ruscha. The new music video for “Now and Then” will be released on Friday, November 3. More details will be announced, including plans for a global debut.
The 12-minute documentary “Now and Then – The Last Beatles Song,” written and directed by Oliver Murray, will be released on November 1. The film’s world premiere will take place online on The Beatles’ YouTube channel at 7:30pm GMT (4:30pm GMT).
