The 2nd Arts and Sciences Olympiad Awards Ceremony, on Saturday (21), was marked by a lot of emotions and joy

Lots of cuteness, creativity and passion. These were the hallmarks of the awards ceremony of the 2nd Olympiad and Arts, at the Museum of Science and Life in Duque de Caxias. This initiative of the Cecierj Foundation, linked to the State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation, is the first of its kind in the country to equally combine science and arts content targeting students in first and second primary schools in the public and private sectors. “In this edition, we reached 20 municipalities, 81 registered works, and more than 300 students and teachers. The award ceremony is for us to celebrate these numbers, the quality of the work submitted and of course to celebrate the arts and sciences,” highlighted Olympiad Coordinator Thelma Lopez, at the opening of the event, along with Scientific representative. President Regia Beatrice and Professor Monica Dahmouche, one of the organizers of the Olympics.

In addition to the traditional gold, silver and bronze medals, the Science and Arts Olympiad also awards awards in the following categories: Girls in Science, Accessibility, Public Schools, Record, Most Creative Video, Popular Vote, Rio Regions, and Teacher Olympiad in three categories (Years 4, 5 and 6 And the seventh, eighth and ninth). The “Olympic teacher” was Alice Campos from Escola Municipal Tiradentes, in Magé.

“We did a play on the topic of vaccines, and why it is necessary to take a vaccine, with the character of a scientist. The Olympics is a great project and I found out about it through one of my colleagues who had already participated in the previous edition. I was very happy with the award, especially in This category, because it encourages and appreciates the work of the teacher, and we realize that we are on the right path.”

The Arts and Sciences Olympiad is an initiative in the field of scientific publishing, unlike the traditional Olympic Games. The Cecierj Foundation seeks to create a spirit of cooperation among students, grounded in the ideals of friendship, excellence and respect. The initiative also seeks to highlight the relationships between the arts and sciences. And that’s exactly what 11-year-old students Sofia Nou and Malu Mira did with a song by the duo Claudinho and Bochecha.

“We came up with this idea, because it was a song that I already knew on the guitar and Manu on the flute. Winning the medal was a surprise for me, as there are a lot of people competing, it is a big event and it was great to win this Olympics,” explained the student from the university. Colégio Pedro II – Humaitá, a group competition that explores our creativity in many ways, moderated by professors Jessica Barcelos and Pedro Tavares.
