Taylor Swift added another record to her resume this week. The tour film, “The Eras Tour,” broke AMC’s advance ticket sales record and became Fandango’s best New Year’s ticket seller to date.
The two companies shared the news after Swift announced that her mega-tour will be hitting theaters across the US. The movie will be available from October 13 through at least November 5.
According to a statement from AMC, The Blonde has collected US$26 million (about R$128 million) in ticket sales revenue in just one day.
And this number exceeded the movie “Spiderman: No Return Home”, which collected $ 16.9 million (about 83 million Brazilian riyals) in one day.
Jeremy Heinlein, Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales at Fandango, showed Taylor outperforming franchises like Marvel, Star Wars and DC Comics, which have had historic box office hits. “Not only is Taylor Swift’s concert movie the best-selling first-day ticket, but it also looks like a superhero,” he said in a press release.
The film is 2 hours and 45 minutes long, which is shorter than the 3 hours and 15 minutes of the same show.
“The Eras Tour has been the most important and exciting experience of my life so far and I’m happy to say it’s hitting the big screen soon,” Swift wrote on Instagram on Thursday. Follow Favorite
