4,434 cheeses competed for first place at the 2022-2023 World Cheese Awards, which were held this year in Wales. Le Gruyère AOP, produced by Vorderfultigen and refined by Gourmino, was what stood out and ended up being described by judges as a “truly polished cheese,” melting in the mouth with notes of herbs, fruits and leather. “It’s cheese with lots of flavor and bouquet,” the examinees reportedly told CNN.

Also according to American Car, the judges took into account the cheese’s appearance (the consistency of crust and crumb), aroma, texture, texture and taste.
