Iga Swiatek is the great Roland Garros champion in 2022. The Polish beat American, Corey Gauff, by two sets to zero, partial 6/1 and 6/3 in one hour. In addition to the title, the world number one tied for the century’s longest winning streak in women’s tennis, which was Venus Williams. That’s 35 consecutive victories.
Venus reached 35 in 2000, since the start of Wimbledon that year, in which she was a champion, to the final of the General Ladies Lines final. Swiatek will have a long way to go if he is to achieve the longest streak in history: Martina Navratilova’s 74th straight victories in 1984.

This is the second Grand Slam title in Iga’s career and he is just 21 years old (on May 31st). The only other trophy was in 2020, also in the French capital’s major tournament.
Iga had a special fan in the stands at Stade Philippe Chatrier: Robert Lewandowski. His compatriot, who was twice elected the best in the world in football, hugged the champion after the title.
World ring owner Iga Swiatek started the match wanting to leave no holes in the promise of young American cori Gauff. In the first half of the match, he opened 40 for 15 and broke the opponent’s serve.
The Polish continued to dominate the match. After confirming his serve, he threw pressure back on the young opponent who had an advantage in the third inning. Gauff still managed to equalize and even took the advantage, but again suffered a break, which gave Swatic a wide margin.
After the world number one opened 4/0, Curie was finally able to confirm her serve, but that was only to avoid the frame. After that, the Pole opened 5/1 and closed the first set with another victory in a rival match, opening the set 1 to 0 in just 34 minutes.

The American did not give up. The second group started with the same competition recipe. Break right into the first match and put pressure on the opponent. But we are talking about the best in the world. Iga Swiatek recovered, tied the match and converted it to 5/2.
The Polish only needed to confirm her own serve to hit 6/3, to ensure Roland Garros won her title, the second major of her career, both in the French capital.
