According to the Brazilian agency, the annular solar eclipse, also known as the “Ring of Fire,” can be seen in a narrow strip that passes through the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and the southernmost part of South America, some cities in the southeastern, central, and western regions of Brazil, and municipalities in the south of the country, as well as in Chile and Argentina.
In Canuinhas, for example, residents were able to admire a solar eclipse. Fatima Santos is a photographer and took amazing photos detailing the phenomenon.

“I was able to photograph the solar eclipse by pure chance. It appeared through the clouds for a short time. Simply amazing,” Fatima said on social media.
Partial solar eclipse
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon lies between the Earth and the sun, creating a shadow on part of the planet. The partial eclipse was on Wednesday, leaving only part of the sun visible. Furthermore, the visualization in SC was not that of the famous “ring of fire,” as the phenomenon seen here resembled a “cookie cutter.”
Observing the eclipse should not be done without protection, because solar radiation can cause damage to vision. It is also not recommended to point cell phone cameras directly at the sun, as the brightness can damage the electronic sensors. For greater safety, it is recommended to use welding glass filters, for example.
