According to a poll conducted by American TV Fox after Joe Biden dropped out of the re-election race, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are in a tight race for the US presidency in four key states.
In the states both the candidates got a similar 49% Michigan and Pennsylvania. at Minnesota, Kamala 52% and Trump has 46%. Already inside Wisconsin, Trump 50% and Kamala, 49%.
In the United States, swing states are those that do not show a clear preference for Republicans or Democrats in different elections. Since voting in the country is indirect and all delegates from a state go to the same candidate, these states are considered to be responsible for deciding the election.
Conducted between July 22 and 24 and released on Friday (26), it interviewed more than a thousand registered voters in each state. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
In three of these states, Kamala currently has more codes than Biden held in April.
At the time, research indicated that:
- Wisconsin (April): Biden 48%, Trump 48%; 49% for Kamala in the July poll;
- Michigan (April): Biden 46%, Trump 49% (in July, Kamala 49%)
- Pennsylvania (April): Biden 48%, Trump 48% (in July, Kamala 49%)
Polls show majorities of voters in these 4 states approve of Joe Biden withdrawing from the presidential race, with two-thirds saying he should finish his term.
