The path of women in science and other fields was the subject of a presentation by students who were members of the Science Club of the Colégio Estadual Círculo Operário (Ceco), in Duque de Caxias, on Wednesday afternoon (13), at the Science and Life Symposium. museum .
The works of Yasmine Pereira, Ana Paula de Sena, Nicole Moraes and Ana Beatriz have already been shown at the 17th edition of FECTI, held in November at Esserge. This time they spoke to students from the public schools Hervalina Diniz, Montero Lobato and Barão de Maua, located in Duque de Caxias.
“We met in the Science Club to study and learn about the work that women do, and we worked on the importance of their production. “It is very important for students to be inspired, as women are fighting for credibility and voice nowadays,” said Yasmin Oliveira.
This initiative is part of the program “Girls in the Exact Sciences of Baixada Fluminense: From UFRJ Laboratories to the Museum of Science and Life”, the result of the partnership between the two institutions. Students participate in activities that take place in the university’s laboratories and in a series of activities in the museum.
The project is supported by CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) and Faperj (Foundation Carlos Chagas Filho de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio de Janeiro).
