The force of the wind swept away a plane parked at an airport in the US state of Texas, on Tuesday (28), in an impressive incident recorded on video. This case occurred at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, which is ranked as the third busiest airport in the world. The damaged plane was empty at the time and no injuries were reported.
The storms that struck Texas during the day brought heavy rain, hail, and winds reaching speeds of 153 kilometers per hour. American Airlines, which is responsible for the ill-fated plane, confirmed that several other unmanned aircraft were also affected by the storm.
The company said in an official statement: “Our maintenance team is currently conducting full inspections and will make all necessary repairs.” As a result of bad weather conditions, nearly 500 flights were canceled at the airport.
In addition to damage to airport infrastructure, storms in Texas killed one person and injured several people. In recent weeks, the city of Houston has faced two major floods due to heavy rains, exacerbating the effects of adverse weather conditions in the region.
