Simon and Simaria with new music. Classmates kick-off, Friday (9), Don’t cry anymore, an international partnership with Colombian singer Sebastian Yatra, which features an impressive and engaging blend of rhythms such as sertanejo, reggaeton and African music. In an exclusive interview with R7The three artists spoke about the difficulties in developing the project during the pandemic period.
The new song, composed by Simaria, Calima, Rafinha RSQ and Sebastian Yatra, is sung in Portuguese and Spanish and is a version of the song I love you, Calima. Simaria says she and her sister fell in love with the music just by hearing it. “We were recording another project with Calima and we went crazy when we heard the song.”
Later, at the end of 2019, the country duo met Sebastian Yatra, during the singer’s trip to Brazil, and soon they signed the partnership. “We met Yatra in Rio de Janeiro with his visit to Brazil. Immediately, the three of us fell in love. I already had a tune I love you “I saved it, and I showed it to him, he loved it,” Simaria says.
According to the Colombian, he often does not fall in love with a song right away, but rather falls in love with it I love you This magic was instant. “For me, it’s very hard to fall in love with a melody, because I always want to compose new and new music that sounds like something I’ve never heard before. This is because it’s very easy to compose a song, but it’s very difficult to make something new., which sounds like it came out Oven. But when I heard this melody, I had this feeling at the time, and it would even be a collaboration sung in both Portuguese and Spanish.” .
In addition to the difficulty of composing music remotely, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Yatra and Simon talk about the obstacles they have faced with language. “The face Siomone makes when I speak Spanish is the same face I make when I speak Portuguese,” the musician jokes. “Although there are some similar words, I don’t understand Portuguese very well, but Simaria and the team were great in that regard,” he adds.
Simone also praised her sister, married to Spaniard Vicente Escrigue, for overcoming the language barrier. “I’ve always told Simaria that I want to be successful, but I’ve always wanted to be with my heart and my way of speaking. I admit I haven’t researched much about the language, but Simaria plays that role well,” explains College.
As for the video, Simaria says that throughout the creative process he wanted to incorporate the beach scene into it Don’t cry anymore. “I really liked the red versus the blue of the sea and really wanted to get that in this clip. During all the script meetings I sent some cues with these aspects to the team. I also wanted there to be scenes from the girl meeting that new guy likes to be able to Stop suffering for the madman who left her, and soon the Yatra adopted the idea. ”
The recording was done in two different places and Simon explains why: “I registered my league in the States. Simaria and Yatra did it together in Mexico. I was in my last trimester, and I had a few things to sort out there before the baby was born. Because of a problem This scheduling, we had to do it that way, but I think the result was very good.”
Finally, she says everyone was worried about not showing that she was pregnant, so all of her scenes from the bust up were recorded. “I was about eight months old. My biggest concern, both from the team and from Simaria, was not showing that I was pregnant, because it’s a clip that involves more,” she says. He jokes, “I’m lucky that my face doesn’t swell. Everything went very well and nice to see.”
