“Shut up,” the Ukrainian chancellor tells critics of the counterattack

Reuters – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Thursday strongly condemned critics of Kiev’s counter-offensive tactics, saying they underestimate Ukrainian soldiers and they should “shut up”.

“Criticizing the slow pace of the counterattack is like… spitting in the face of a Ukrainian soldier who sacrifices his life every day and advances and liberates kilometer after kilometer of Ukrainian territory,” Kuleba told reporters during a meeting of US ministers. The New York Times last week quoted US and other Western officials as saying the counterattack had made limited progress because Ukraine had too many forces in the wrong places.

“I recommend all critics to shut up, to come to Ukraine and try to free up a square centimeter themselves,” Kuleba said, standing next to Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares.
