A small plane crashed into a trailer park in Clearwater, Florida on Thursday (1st), causing multiple deaths, local authorities reported. ” said City Fire Chief Scott Ehlers.
The crash occurred at 7 p.m. (9 p.m. Brasilia time), shortly after an airport in the region received a warning from the plane in trouble, Ehlers said. Firefighters quickly arrived at Bayside Waters, the large trailer park hit by the plane, and were able to extinguish the flames.
According to the fire chief, at least three houses were affected by the fire, and a fourth was hit directly by the plane. Other park residents were unharmed.
The small plane was a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza V35, local media reported, citing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) information. According to the agency, the pilot reported engine failure before the crash. (AFP)
