Senate Will Analyze Use of SUS Resources to Fund Nursing Floor – News

In a meeting with Economy Minister Paolo Guedes, Pacheco also suggested using the resources that the Ministry of Health receives from decision amendments, the so-called secret budget, to ensure payment of the minimum. All of these proposals still need to be discussed by party leaders.




The law creating the National Nursing Hall was approved by the National Congress and enacted in August with the requirement that nurses receive a minimum of R$4,750. The base salary for nursing technicians should be 70% of this amount (R$3,325), while the starting salary for nursing assistants and midwives should be 50% of the minimum (R$2,375).

However, on September 15, the law was suspended for 60 days by the Federal Supreme Court (STF). According to the court’s decision, the suspension was necessary until the effects of the measure on state and municipal finances were clarified.
