Scientists issue a dire warning about the future of the planet

Some time ago, planet Earth had ideal conditions to safely sustain human life. What many people don’t know is that instead of cooperating with the planet and helping to maintain environmental conditions conducive to life, humans have contributed in the opposite way over the years.

This irresponsible behavior has contributed to at least seven of the eight major rules that are put in place to keep the planet safe.

These rules and restrictions were first revealed in a survey in 2009, and now, a few years later, an update has been published in the journal nature.

The first survey had nine conservation criteria that should not be met, but the Earth has already overtaken some of them, such as biodiversity loss and climate change.

But, in addition to this, the change in natural cycles also interferes with the health of many organisms due to lack of water resources and other factors.

Find out which boundaries have already been broken

Scientist Johan Rockström has led the same research in the past and is now continuing to develop it to update project information. The research was conducted with 40 other researchers around the world.

According to Rockström, eight boundaries have already been crossed by the planet, namely:

  1. climate;
  2. areas of natural/preserved ecosystems;
  3. functional integrity of ecosystems;
  4. Surface of the water;
  5. underground water;
  6. nitrogen levels
  7. phosphorus levels
  8. Aerosol pollution.

Another survey also showed that about four million people die each year due to complications from pollution, and thus these effects affect more than 90% of the Earth’s surface.

In response to all these discoveries, the researchers appealed to the big companies, asking them to help control the emission of polluting gases, and to increase the limits.

In short, for scientists, a planet is like a person doing their routine checks. However, now it is as if a new disease has been discovered that requires attention and care.
