Atlético midfielder Gustavo Scarpa managed to block just over R$530,000 from the bank accounts of Santos’ Willian Bigoud this week. In addition, the São Paulo Court of Justice ruled that the Peixe striker should not receive 10% of his current salary and 20% of what he still has to earn from Fluminense, his former club.
In contact with Jol, Willian’s lawyer stated that he would appeal the decision: “We remain convinced that after the defence (appeal) is presented, the absence of any legal responsibility on the part of Willian Bigodi will be conclusively proven.”
Problems in the company
Players Gustavo Scarpa and Mike have gone to court after losing around R$10.3 million in cryptocurrency investments, according to financial management company WLJC, which has striker Willian Bigoud, from Santos and then with Palmeiras, as one of the partners. The investment was made in Xland Holding Ltda, through Soluções Tecnologia Eireli.
Scarpa, who currently works for Atlético, invested R$6.3 million in his friend’s company. Since he was not getting any returns or results, the midfielder asked to terminate his contract with Xland Holding Ltda. At the time, Scarpa was informed that he would get the money back within 30 business days and that the invested amount would be refunded. But none of this happened. A new deadline was set, but again the money was not returned to the player.
Right-back Mike, who still plays for Palmeiras, faced a similar situation. The athlete invested R$4 million in Xland Holding. For the same reason, he also requested the return of profitability in October last year, when Willian Bigoud’s company committed to making the payment within ten working days. The amount has not been returned to this day.
