247 – The Saudi Foreign Minister said that his country will not normalize relations with Israel or contribute to the reconstruction of Gaza without establishing a Palestinian state.
“The priority now must be to end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. We are convinced that the only way to achieve stability in the region is through the establishment of a Palestinian state.”
The ministry added: “We make clear to the Americans and others that the priority is dealing with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” stressing that the focus is on the ceasefire and the arrival of aid to Gaza.
He concluded by saying: “We have indicated from the beginning that an unrestrained response by Israel would inflame emotions. We must understand that we are not dealing only with a moral issue, but an issue related to the security of the entire region.”
