Oder Heilmann is no longer the coach of Santos. The coach could not resist the streak of nine matches without a win and was dismissed from the leadership of Santos.
Santos won for the last time on May 14, when they beat Vasco 1-0, in São Janurio. Since then, there have been five draws and four defeats. During this period, the team was eliminated from the Copa Brasil and Sudamericana with two defeats in Villa Belmero.
The final straw for sacking was a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Corinthians at Villa Belmero. Peixe had a poor start even with 11 free days to work. During this time, demonstrations at CT Rei Pelé also called for the coach to leave.
Odair Hellmann was announced by Peixe in December 2022 to lead the team in the final year of President Andres Rueda’s administration. The coach has been without a club since Al Wasl’s departure from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The main enthusiast for the arrival of the coach was Paulo Roberto Falcao, the football coordinator of Peixe.
The 46-year-old coach, in charge of Santos in 34 matches, has a record of 11 wins, 12 draws and 11 losses – a success rate of 44.1%. Exiting the first stage of the Paulista and South American championships, with Oder Hellmann, left Peixe in the Brazilian’s modest 13th place with 13 points.
Check out the note from Santos:
Santos Football Club has announced that Oder Heilmann is no longer in charge of the professional team. The coach officially signed, on Thursday (22), the termination of his contract by mutual agreement with the club.
In addition to Odair, assistants Maurício Dulac and Fábio Moreno and physical coach Rogério Dias also left the club. Santos FC is grateful for the services rendered by the professionals and wishes them well in their careers.
