Diego Pitoca is officially back Santos. The midfielder, who previously signed a contract with Peixe in July this year, confirmed his return on Sunday (31). With an impressive spell at Pixie between 2017 and 2021, the athlete will sign a four-year contract after undergoing medical examinations at the beginning of 2024.
Born in Moji Goaso (SP) and currently 31 years old, Bitoka arrived at Santos in 2017 and earned his first chance in the professional team in 2018, becoming one of the players with the greatest identity among the fans.
He played 155 matches wearing the No. 21 Pixies shirt, scoring eight goals and eight assists. He left the club in January 2021 to play for Japanese team Kashima Antlers, where he remained until December of this year. Now, the midfielder returns to help Alvingro Praiano rebuild next season.
Bitoca is the tenth confirmed reinforcement for 2024. Santos previously announced midfielder Giuliano, right-backs Aderlan and Hainer, left-back Jorge, defender Gil, striker Willian Bigodi, midfielder Otero, midfielder Joao Schmidt and striker Marcelinho.
