Russian attack on Solidarity Kitchen in Kharkiv leaves 4 wounded – News

A Russian missile hit a site used by the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK) to operate a solidarity kitchen with four injured Ukrainian civilians in the eastern city of Kharkiv on Saturday (16).

The director of the NGO, Nate Mok, reported the attack on Saturday via his Twitter account, showing pictures of the place and concluding that “cooking is a heroic act of bravery”.

The NGO, founded by Spanish chef Jose Andres, has been operating in different parts of Ukraine practically since the beginning of the invasion and has provided free hot food to refugees and other civilians affected by the conflict.

The same Spanish chef has spent the last few days in the Kyiv region, having started his work in the cities of Poland where the first Ukrainian refugees arrived.

At first, it was reported on social media that four people were killed in the attack on the facilities of non-governmental organizations in Kharkiv, but later Jose Andres himself corrected the information, noting that there were four wounded and that they were “recovering”.
