Moscow:
Moscow said on Monday it may launch attacks on British military targets inside Ukraine and elsewhere if Ukrainian forces use British-supplied long-range missiles to attack Russia.
The statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry came after British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said during a visit to Ukraine that Kiev “has the absolute right to respond to Russia.”
He also said that London had “no observations” about how Ukrainian forces used British-supplied weapons.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it had summoned the United Kingdom’s ambassador to Moscow, Nigel Casey, and warned him that if Ukrainian forces used British-supplied weapons to attack Russia, Moscow could target “any United Kingdom military facilities and equipment on Ukrainian territory.” And outside.”
“The Ambassador is urged to reflect on the inevitable disastrous consequences of such hostile actions by London, and to immediately and in the strongest and most forceful manner refute the aggressive and provocative statements of the Head of the State Department,” the statement read. He added.
Russia announced earlier that it was planning to conduct new nuclear weapons exercises, citing “threats” issued by Western leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and British officials.
Russian forces currently occupy several regions in Ukraine, and the Kremlin claimed that it annexed them and that they are part of Russian territory.
